A New Beginning

I was born in Martinez, California, but grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, then later lived in Portland, Oregon.  I began living on my own at the age of 12.

I was with my husband for 26 years and have two beautiful and intelligent daughters.  My first three years with my husband were perfect, but then things changed.

I have been in Laguna Honda Hospital for one year and six months now and what brought me here was that my husband broke my hip.  No woman should ever be abused.  I think all women should be treated like a rose, and not a garden weed.  I would like to be a role model for all abused women.  I am currently writing a book that will be based on my life titled “Blind Eyes Will See”.

Laguna Honda and God gave me my life back.  I didn’t know how to smile until I came here, but now I have a new beginning.
